The 5 Best places for an outdoor family session in Macon
1. Amerson River Park: With its stone pagodas and sweeping walkways overlooking the Ocmulgee river, Amerson is a great destination for families. Scenic rocks make for magical moments as the evening sun highlights your precious ones in the best light. Grassy hills and long forested walkways make for great play time and adventures!
2. Washington Park: Home to concerts, second Sunday’s and the occasional wedding shoot. This lovely park is right in the heart of Downtown Macon. It has a sloping hill that is immaculately landscaped and maintained providing a gorgeous backdrop to capture your family’s Sunday best! There is a lovely fountain in the center of the park with a creek running along the side of the park providing the sounds of running water for added serenity to your experience.
3. Tatnall Square Park: A lush park with scenic views of Mercer University. This location offers your family a large memorable fountain. You can also use the fields for playing and picnicking with Mercer as your backdrop. You would be missing out if you didn’t wander the park with your family and sit underneath the large Magnolia and Spruce trees that the park has to offer.
4. Coleman Hill Park: This park has one of the best views of Downtown Macon available. A view that can’t be beat comes with benches underneath shady trees to give dappled lighting to add character to some of your precious memories. The park features a slide that creates opportunity for great movement in your photos giving them a life and an energy that will really make them stand out.
5. Carolyn Crayton Park: Macon’s largest park is home to the iconic Cherry Blossom Festival along with many more outdoor attractions. The rotunda building in the center of the park is a landmark of Macon. There is a large gazebo along with big open spaces with beautiful hedges. Couple all this with a classic train and you have an unforgettable place for your family to make some memories.
