What you can expect from your family session
There are some great photographers out there that can take care of your family and produce amazing photos of your lives and experiences. I can only hope to live up to some of their greatness, and I will try my best with a smile and a clear vision to showcase the story of your family’s time with me. Here are some of the things you can expect from your family session.
A fun time. I want the atmosphere of our session together to be casual, happy, and fun. Just like the times your family spends together laughing and playing around, that's what we are gonna do. I’ll have simple directions to get us started, but once we get rolling the moments start to make themselves and I just catch 'em before they are gone.
Clear direction. Every family is unique and to serve that uniqueness I take the time to plan out all of my sessions. You will have a clear understanding of the mood and style of our session along with the location and time of day. We will talk about clothing options and choices throughout the process. I’ll be there with you every step of the way.
Documentary style. I love seeing you and your loved ones in your most carefree state and to do that I don’t focus on stiff formal posing. I will give gentle suggestions for where to place your hands or a prompt for an activity, but I will never pose you like a marionette. My belief is that simple is best when it comes to capturing the moments of people’s lives and that's what my directions will be: simple.
Variety of choice. I’ll walk with your family through cuddly moments, laughing moments, raucous moments, everything in between and show them all to you. I don’t sit still too well, so there will be a lot of motion in our photos. I will tell the story of our time together from close ups to far away wide shots of your family enjoying each other’s company
Clear edits. For me editing your family’s story is the finishing touch with the majority of the process being our time together. I want to accentuate the day we had together, but not distract from it with anything that takes away from your family’s natural beauty. I’ll make sure that your family will shine in your best light.
